Singing lessons are held at my home in Hale, Altrincham. All lessons are taught in person.

The age a child is ready to start singing lessons varies greatly, depending on the child. As their parent, you know best whether they are ready to focus for longer periods and remember musical lines and lyrics. I would generally recommend lessons from the age of 6 or 7, but earlier might be appropriate for some little ones.

Absolutely not! I am more than happy to teach healthy vocal technique and apply it to any and all styles of music. The most important thing when learning to sing is that the student enjoys the music they are singing. Should you still wish to do singing exams, we can look at exam boards that offer musical theatre or pop music graded exams.
-
Yes, I am experience at preparing students for ABRSM singing examinations, including wok on repertoire, sight-reading and musical understanding. However, lessons don’t have to follow an exam syllabus and can be entirely tailored to your own goals.
-
Lessons start at £30 for 30 minutes, with a 60-minute lesson costing £55. I offer discounts for block bookings.
-
Absolutely! I can help you choose audition repertoire, vocal technique, musical interpretation and performance confidence, whether you’re preparing for a school production, drama/music school audition or another performance opportunity.
-
Definitely! Whether you’re already singing in a choir or hoping to join one, individual lessons can help you develop your vocal technique, improve your confidence, strengthen your musicianship and sight-reading skills and feel more comfortable singing with others.
-
Most students see the most progress with weekly lessons, as regular tuition helps build muscle memory for vocal technique and keep the momentum going. However, lesson frequency can be discussed depending on your availability and goals.
-
A little regular practice makes a huge difference in your or your child’s confidence! I understand life is very busy, and you will never be in trouble for not practicing! But if you can find a couple of short practice slots during the week, you will notice the difference at your next lesson.
-
Just yourself and any sheet music for songs you’d like to look at! If you don’t have any, or you’re not sure yet what music you’d like to learn, we can choose some in our lesson together, so please don’t worry :)
-
Yes, I love working with beginners, whether children or adults! It’s an exciting time, discovering your voice and musical inclinations together!
-
I recommend parents of younger children to stay for the first lesson or two to make sure your little one feels happy and comfortable. After that, I recommend leaving if possible so your child doesn’t feel self-conscious. However, if you or your child would prefer you to stay, we can certainly arrange that.
I am fully DBS checked, have my own daughter and lots of experience teaching children, so you can rest assured they are in safe hands.
-
I am very happy to teach siblings, though would recommend they have their own lesson wherever possible as singing is a very personal thing!
I am happy to discuss finding back-to-back slots to make it easier for your schedules, and offer a 10% discount for sibling lessons.
-
I ask you to give 24 hours notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson wherever possible, and am happy to rearrange in these cases.

Of course! Putting yourself out there as a singer can be a daunting thing and some of us respond more strongly to nerves than others. I have experienced performance anxiety first-hand so know how to help students deal with it and will always handle your feelings with kindness and patience.
